Batërdia to the Oncologist, Ilir Alimehmeti: The government "closed

Doctor Ilir Alimehmeti spoke today on "Te Pashoq" regarding the scandal at Oncology, making the government responsible. According to him, the situation was known, but the government turned a blind eye. Referring to the findings of the High State Audit, he said that we are dealing with legal violations, since the government did not act on the recommendations given.

- Let's start with a summary, what was discovered in the Oncology Hospital?

I will start with the cliché that: The law is equal for all. This is the first, what was found, the prosecution tells us. We do not have the complete materials. They are still investigating. Otherwise, the trial started. What has come out publicly, we notice three pillars of action that have been gathered together: First, the transfer of patients to the private system and the claim is for financial gain. The second column is the clearance to private pharmacies of chemotherapy drugs; and the third presence of a device that may have been radioactive during the period under investigation, which is not put into operation.

We have 3 pillars with different actors and they are grouped in one issue. What revolted us were those leaked messages. Messages extracted from communications from the interrogators and how they gave a kind of popular trial, the trial should be of the institutions. If it had been the people to do things themselves, we would not have the state and the institutions. I can't say who is guilty unless they are declared guilty. Who is guilty is to be punished. But be careful. The court must say that we have problems with justice. We take a long time to give decisions and as a result it has left a path in quotes for self-judgment. In the trial ie. So we do it before the court. The investigation came after a citizen's complaint. It is everyone's duty to report an injustice when they see it.

- There were also in the media...

This is a phenomenon we know. It is not that we have not heard that money is given, patients and medicines are moved. We have seen hospital medicines sold in pharmacies.

-But not to not receive service...

If there were enough surgical rooms, would the ground for such schemes be created? If there were chemotherapy rooms in hospitals, would it happen? If there were enough equipment, would patients remain without treatment? It is something painful for the cancer patient. I tire you physically and emotionally. The patient will do everything to ensure life and fall into the trap of the system. We need to create systems that work. In health, we should not put our hands in it. But we cannot ignore the fact that the WHO came out yesterday and said that 60 percent of the money for health is taken out of Albanians' pockets, 40 percent from the budget, but that's where our taxes are.

KLSH issued a report saying that equipment is missing, 600 women were without medication due to radiation therapy. Some others with skin cancer were without treatment. That device that we talk about that is undecided means that it is not only a matter of corruption. It is serious corruption because of the impact on the lives of citizens. KLSH not only conducts investigations, it also gives recommendations. You have a duty to implement them. The law punishes for actions and omissions. In this case, we have no actions because the HCSA gave tasks and no one dealt with them.
