Analyst Frrok Çupi has commented on the decision of the Court of Appeal, which left unchanged the two-year prison sentence for Fredi Beleri. He said that Greece has withdrawn a lot in relation to this issue.
Çupi said that Beleri is no longer a problem for Albania since justice "spoke", but it remains a problem for Greece, which has elected him as a member of the European Parliament. "There is a great attraction of the Greeks themselves in this matter. The first is that Greek politics is busy in conflicts with its neighbors, with North Macedonia and in the permanent conflict with Turkey, and another conflict cannot generate so much in Albania. The second is that Beleri is getting ready to be a member of the EP and all the politics before the elections that vote for the EP was more fiery than now. The expectations were different, the right was fighting for more power, thinking it would go to the extreme, and Greek politics also fell into this game. But now things have changed in Europe itself, it is fighting and calling both the extreme right and the left.
