"Belgrade continues to discriminate against the Presheva Valley", the

The Albanian deputy in the Assembly of Serbia, Shaip Kamberi, has accused Belgrade of continuing to discriminate against the Presheva Valley.

In a post made on Facebook, he writes that doctors, health and technical personnel who were engaged in work during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Health Center in Preshevo, have been left at the mercy of fate.

"The health center in Preševo continues to be the only one, which is not implementing the Government's Conclusion, which orders that all people engaged during the pandemic get a permanent job in the health institutions where they worked" , writes Kamberi.

The deputy says that two months ago he informed the international representatives about this issue and that on November 27, 2023 he sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, with the request that the government's conclusion be respected in Preševo as well.

"Even two months later, I have not received an answer. Based on this, on Tuesday, January 16, I addressed the state president asking him to use his powers and authority and prevent this unprecedented discrimination against young Albanians in the municipality of Presheva. The continuation of eventual silence means complicity in this discrimination", he writes.

He says that within a short time they have faced two concrete cases of extreme discrimination, where the Health Center and the Police Station in Presheva are turning into closed institutions for the Albanians of Presheva.

"In the letter sent, I also informed the president of the state about the case of Ahmet Beqiri, a graduate student of the police academy, for whom, although he has a high education, there is no job at the police station in Preshevo. It is time to prevent this unequal treatment that is being done to the Albanians of the Valley. The silence of the institutions means complicity. And when the heads of state are silent, it is implied that they themselves are also the creators of this plan ", concludes deputy Kamberi.
