
Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke about the summoning of Prime Minister Rama as a witness in Sali Berisha's trial for the "Partizani" case.
Lala said that Rama is forced to go after the court accepted Berisha's defense request and that the prime minister's turn to testify is likely to come in the fall of this year.
"I have followed the proceedings. Mr. Gjokutaj claims that in order for the court to make a fair decision, it must hear Rama's testimony, because he changed the destination of the property of the former Partizani sports club through 12 firms. The court considered that this should be taken into account. There is a long list of witnesses, Balla will be next week, as he is the accuser.
"Then a series of witnesses will come, expert reports. It is thought that in the fall it may be Edi Rama's turn to be questioned as a defense witness. Lawyers insist that Rama explain why he changed the destination of this property. In the meantime, Mr. Rama is obliged to appear in the hearing. Only the President can be questioned in the office.
