About 800 police officers have surrounded the Parliament
As the Assembly will meet today to approve SPAK's request for the arrest of Sali Berisha, the latter has called a protest in front of the Assembly premises.
Numerous police forces have surrounded the Parliament, while high-resolution cameras have been installed to identify protesters in case of incidents.
The officers engaged in the protest are from the Tirana Police and the National Security Forces (former FNSH).
The measures were taken by the General Directorate of State Police in coordination with DVP Tirana.
High-resolution cameras have been installed in the perimeter of the parliament to identify every movement of the protesters so that the police have all the possible evidence if there are incidents.
Meanwhile, RENEA is on standby in case of incidents.
Also, water tankers are located at the back of the parliament if it will be necessary to intervene.
The Parliament of Albania will meet today in one of the most important plenary sessions, where it is expected to give the authorization for the arrest of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
After the Constitutional Court did not take into consideration the lawsuit of the Reestablishment MPs, the Assembly now has the way open to remove the mandate of MP Berisha and to send him to prison.
Then it will be the Special Prosecutor's Office that will decide what coercive measure will be required for Berisha, 'house arrest' or 'prison arrest', who is under investigation for the 'Partizani' affair.
