Besmir Gjezari, convicted of the criminal offense of producing and selling narcotics, was released from prison this Wednesday, after benefiting from the Criminal Amnesty.
Immediately after leaving the prison, he declared that he had been unjustly convicted and that he would take legal steps to seek justice in his case.
Gjezari said he was sentenced to five years in prison, having served two years and seven months of the sentence. He claimed that he was not caught with narcotics and that the Judicial Police officer, Mariglen Beqo, was responsible for his situation.
"I have been accused of narcotics, production and sale of narcotics. I have been sentenced to five years in prison. I served two years and seven months. And I have not been caught with anything. I have been unjustly convicted by the Korça Prosecutor's Office and the Court, and I have this from the judicial police officer, Mariglen Beqo. He has a tendency. It started from him.
"And he has taken my family and I have been here for two years and a half and I have not been able to see my family. I will seek justice and this is just the beginning. As soon as I get out, I will start everything from scratch," he said.
Gjezari also claimed that during his time in prison he was not allowed to meet his family and his minor child. He also spoke about the pressures and threats that he said were exerted on him and his family.
"I have not met my family because the prosecution did not allow it. The entire influence was the judicial police officer. I have also been unjustly deprived of the right to meet my minor child, aged 3, and I have left him for almost a year, a year or so, and I have not met him, I have not seen him because of the injustices that the judicial police officer, Mariglen Beqo, has done to me.
He has also received pressure and threats from people in the justice system, and I feel very threatened and endangered, as do my family. I am threatened with my life, as do my family. They have returned personal things to me. What does the judicial police officer know about that, because I do not know and do not yet understand why, the reason.
"Not being able to see my family for two years, having it 2 km away from the wall, is not a good thing. And to have my child's rights taken away unjustly because the judicial police officer is involved. For what reason? He knows that, and we will seek justice for this. I am a family man, I have a minor child, I have my own business, and I want to devote myself to my family," he added.
