The Serbian national team arrived at Rinas Airport today at around 1:06 PM, under strict security measures, on the eve of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers match against Albania. The players were then transported by bus to a hotel in the center of Tirana, where they will be accommodated before the match at the Air Albania Stadium on June 7.
The police announce that the road from the hotel where the Serbian team is accommodated on "Gjergj Fishta" Boulevard to the "Arena Kombëtare" Stadium via "Bajram Curri" Boulevard will have partial restrictions at 4:30 PM today and at 6:45 PM the next day, at the times when the team will be escorted to training and matches.
The State Police appeals for understanding from citizens and requests compliance with the instructions of security forces on the ground, warning that any behavior that violates order and security will be treated with zero tolerance and in accordance with the law.
Over 2,000 police forces have been deployed on the ground, including RENEA, the National Security Forces, Anti-Terrorism and SHISH, to ensure security and order during the stay of the Serbian team and the development of the match.
Anti-terrorist forces will control the stadium perimeter and monitor entry points into Albanian territory, while police will use anti-drone equipment to prevent any aerial threats.
For a week now, photos of people with extremist tendencies have been sent to border points, who will not be allowed to enter Albania.
Modern security systems have been installed at the “Arena Kombëtare” stadium, including facial recognition cameras and additional mobile cameras, which will monitor in real time every movement in the stands and around the stadium. Also, tickets and identification documents of all persons entering the stadium will be thoroughly verified.
Fans must arrive at the stadium entrance at 6:00 PM due to the large influx of fans, in order to avoid delays and the possibility of being denied entry.
The streets that will be blocked from 3:00 PM until the end of the match on Saturday include: "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard (from the intersection near the Presidency towards "Mother Teresa" Square), "Papa John Paul II" streets, "Dervish Hima" near the US Embassy, "Asim Zeneli" near the US Embassy, "Themistokli Gërmenji", "Gjergj Filipi", "Lekë Dukagjini" near the former Republic Guard to the stadium, "Faik Konica" and "Skerdilajd Llagami".
