Cocaine is being distributed throughout Albania like never before. Finding cocaine in Tirana is as easy as buying cigarettes. The VOICE reveals for the first time a network of taxis that distribute cocaine in the capital. A public service managed by several private companies is the newest haven for traffickers. Cocaine can be found in taxis, anywhere and anytime.
In the documentary, which is the fruit of a several-month investigation, it is proven with voice and image, how the taxi drivers, of some of the companies operating in Tirana, have turned into cocaine traffic brokers. In conversations with co-workers, taxi drivers discover that providing and selling cocaine is a common phenomenon, while there are also offers for sex workers, showing the names of the hotels where they will offer their services.
Taxi drivers provide the accomplice with cocaine, contacts with sellers, and even provide the interior space of the car to consume the narcotic substance. As if all this were not enough, taxi drivers also consume cocaine themselves, and then go out on the streets of the capital, becoming a source of accidents or other serious events.
