The British Home Office has increased the fees for obtaining visas and any type of residence permit, up to those for permanent residence and those for applying for British passports, changes that are expected to be applied from October 4 of this year.
Based on these changes, the cost of a visitor visa for a period of less than six months will increase from £15 to £115, while the fee for a student visa issued outside the UK will rise from £127 currently to £490 in October. , being equal to the application fee made when the student is in Britain.
Fee changes include 6 month, 2, 5 and 10 year UK visas, most fees for visas and residence permits for both work and study, fees for permanent residence permits and those for applications to register as naturalized to obtain British citizenship. The well-known Albanian lawyer in London, Naim Hasani, tells Top-Channel that the fees have been quite high and will now increase even more.
The fee increase is to ease the burden on British taxpayers in running immigration services, as well as to fund pay rises for Britons working in the public sector, passing these costs on to foreigners who want to live, work or study in Britain.
