Lawyer Ardinez Domgjoni, who practices in the USA as a lawyer, spoke about the event that shocked Florida, the murder of Suela Saliaj who was killed by her ex-husband Renato Muhaj.
In a connection with Skype on the "Albania Live" show, he said that the state of Florida has the death penalty law in force, where he shows the case of the execution of a criminal last year. But according to Domgjon, the decision of the prosecutor's office must be awaited to find out Renato's fate.
Arjon Muça : How does the law work in Florida for charges of intentional homicide and hostage taking, what is at stake?
Ardinez Domgjoni : Renato has been charged with first degree murder, which is punishable by life imprisonment in Florida, without the possibility of parole. This crime is also punishable by death in the state of Florida. A person who committed a murder in Florida in the 80s and 90s was executed last year. The big difference between this person and Renato is that this individual was executed years ago, had a criminal record, raped a woman and was executed. Such a factor does not exist in the case of Renato who only has fines. He has several other crimes, such as family violence that attacked his parents, he has taken his daughter hostage, he has many crimes. I think he will be sentenced to life imprisonment, but we have to wait for what the prosecution decides.
