Two persons, declared internationally wanted, have been extradited from France. The police announce that 52-year-old Kastriot Piroli, former director of the Cadastre Office in Kurbin, has been extradited, after he was sentenced by the Kurbin court to 5 years in prison for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty", committed in cooperation.
A 42-year-old former police officer in Vlora was also extradited, after he was given the security measure of 'prison arrest' for the criminal offense of abuse of office.
This citizen is accused that with his actions and inactions, he has favored various citizens who practiced the criminal activity of cultivating narcotics in Himare.
"The cooperation with the international law enforcement agencies continues, for the localization and capture of the citizens announced as wanted internationally.
As a result of the cooperation with the law enforcement agencies in France, 2 Albanian citizens who were caught in France, after the information provided by the State Police and their exchange, with Interpol Lyon, through Interpol Tirana, are extradited to Albania.
One of these citizens was sentenced by the Court of Kurbin, with 5 years imprisonment, for abuse of office, while the other is accused by the Court of Vlora, for the same criminal offense.
The structures of the State Police, following the cooperation with international law-enforcement agencies, for the exchange of information, with the aim of cracking down on criminal activities and capturing citizens wanted internationally, have exchanged information with their French counterparts on the location of 2 Albanian citizens announced in international search.
The continuous exchange of information with Interpol Lyon, through Interpol Tirana, has been finalized with the capture in France and the extradition to Albania of these 2 citizens, specifically:
-Kastriot Piroli, 52 years old, resident of Kurbin, former director of the Kurbin Cadastre Office. Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Lezhë have executed the decision of the Kurbin Judicial District Court, which sentenced this citizen to 5 years of imprisonment for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty", committed in collaboration.
-IJ, 42 years old, resident of Vlora, former police officer. Specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Vlora executed the security measure "Arrest in prison", assigned by the Court of Vlora, with the decision dated 13.12.2020, for the criminal offense "Abuse of duty". This citizen is accused that during the time he was SPZ in the Hora administrative unit, Himare municipality, with his actions and inactions, he favored various citizens who practiced the criminal activity of cultivating narcotics", the police informs.
