Meanwhile, Ilir Meta's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, has given details about the questioning of the PL president today at SPAK.
Gjokutaj said that the only issue the former president was asked about was that of lobbying in the United States.
According to him, Meta has been very cooperative with everything he remembered, as the acts have not yet been made available to the defense.
Gjokutaj said that Meta was interrogated by prosecutor Sotir Kllapi and the relevant officer. The lawyer explained that Meta had asked for clarification on the reasons for his arrest, which he described as violent and similar to a "kidnapping".
"The question started with a request from Mr. Meta, who asked to know the reasons for his arrest. He considered this violent act, as a case of kidnapping. Today he was questioned about the lobbying in the USA, where he was cooperative and showed the things he knew about that matter ", said lawyer Gjokutaj.
Lawyer Gjokutaj added that there is no information yet if Meta will be questioned again, as this decision remains in the hands of SPAK.
" We don't know when it will be asked again, this is a matter for SPAK" , he emphasized.
Gjokutaj also underlined that the minutes of the session were signed and the session was fully completed. However, he pointed out that Meta had asked to speak directly to the media to give his version, but his request had been refused.
" Because of this refusal, I am here to communicate with you and give you the necessary information ", concluded Meta's lawyer.
We remind you that Ilir Meta arrived at the premises of the Special Prosecutor's Office from cell 313 through the tunnel that connects the prison to SPAK.
Contrary to what was planned for the interrogation session to take place at 10:00, Meta arrived at the premises of SPAK almost 1 hour late.
This delay somewhat irritated Meta, who immediately reacted from the cell with a post stating that even though it was overdue he was still waiting to go testify.
" About 15 minutes ago, the regime's media deceived by claiming that I entered the premises of SPAK. It is not true.
I am still in cell No. 5, ready at 10:00 to go to SPAK, even though I received the notification from the regime's media and not according to legal procedures. I am looking forward to meeting the "colleagues" of the megathieves of the most corrupt regime on the continent, and after the mutual question and answer session at SPAK, I am open to answering questions from journalists ," wrote Meta.
