The Ministry of Labor and Foreign Trade in North Macedonia claims that the figures have been manipulated...
The population census developed in our country has brought the Albanian and Macedonian governments into trouble. According to the data published yesterday, the Macedonian minority has almost disappeared.
The number of Macedonian minorities in Albania is 2,281, while in 2011 this number was 5,512. Skopje claims that many of them have been threatened to declare themselves as Bulgarians, as the number of the latter has increased significantly to 7,957.
Today, these figures brought an official reaction from the Macedonian government, which called its ambassador to our country for clarification. The Ministry of Labor and Foreign Trade in North Macedonia claims that the figures have been manipulated.
" The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia notes with serious concern the preliminary results of the population census in the Republic of Albania. The technical irregularities in the way of its implementation, which were constantly pointed out by the Macedonian associations in the Republic of Albania on the eve of the registration, but also during its implementation, were confirmed in the publication of the data. Which, unfortunately, do not adequately reflect the real number of ethnic Macedonians in the country ", the Macedonian ministry emphasizes.
Also, during yesterday's announcement of the results of the population census in Albania, the representative of the embassy of North Macedonia left the presentation, because he did not like the term "Macedonians of the North". This is evidenced in the ministry's statement.
Also , the Ministry expresses dissatisfaction and strongly reacts to the use of the term "North Macedonian" and the use of the name of a country as a substitute for an ethnic community. The Ministry will call the ambassador Danço Markovski for urgent consultations in order to clarify the shortcomings and inconsistencies in this process, examining the possibilities for correcting the data and finding the most adequate ways for the advancement of bilateral relations ", the Skopje official emphasizes.
In the end, it is said that all open issues between the two neighboring states must be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding and respect for the rules, principles and values of the international legal order. / Pamphlet
