Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has commented on the need for a profound reform of the Criminal Code in Albania, emphasizing that toughening the Criminal Code is necessary to deter lawbreakers, especially those who violate public and private property.
In an interview with "Report TV" he said that the country needs a restoration of criminal justice, including the possibility of an entirely new Criminal Code.
"Albania needs a restoration of criminal justice and may even need a completely new criminal code. The criminal code was adopted in a period when there was no internet and cybercrimes were unimaginable. On the other hand, social networks did not exist and today we have them.
"The project for a criminal justice system should not be a party project, but a justice project. The Socialist Party has the votes to change the codes, but I think the Code must withstand the future and a broad debate will be needed ," he said.
