Asked how German citizens who have fallen prey to fraud by call centers operating in Albania will be compensated, German prosecutor Oliver Hoffman said that they should initiate civil proceedings with Albania, in order to recover the damage caused.
In the joint conference with SPAK, the German prosecutor stated that this is not an easy process, but added that German authorities will assist with consultancy.
Operation "Pandora" led to the destruction of a criminal group for computer fraud. SPAK Prosecutor Eneid Nakuçi emphasized that 5 people were arrested, while 3 others were placed under "house arrest."
"Through the creation of the police call center, out of 7.5 thousand cases detected, we managed to prevent 6 thousand of them. Even when they were cases of bank transfers. We prevented the loss of money in the amount of 1 million euros. We kept the damage caused low.
"As for the injured parties in Germany, they must initiate a civil process with Albania, in order to be reimbursed for the damage caused. It is not an easy process, we are ready to help them with consultancy," said Hoffman.
