Journalist Eksiola Shehu has stated that Prime Minister Edi Rama has warned her before, but also during today's SP Assembly, that most of the new Parliamentary Group, after the 2025 elections, will consist of young deputies.
Shehu made the comments in the 'Review' show on Euronews Albania, where he said that the SP is running away from the 'rebirth' of old MPs with many years of experience towards 'new blood'.
She also said that Rama made his displeasure clear when he criticized the deputies who do not hold meetings in their constituencies, or who hold meetings just to take pictures.
According to Shehu, Rama has a clear profile of the candidates who are expected to compete in the 2025 parliamentary elections.
"Rama has a clear profile of the candidates who are expected to compete in the parliamentary elections of 2025. He has expressed dissatisfaction with the current parliamentary group, starting from the meetings that they do not hold on the ground, or some meetings or mini-meetings that they hold only for photos on social networks .
I have the impression that the majority of the SP group that will produce the 2025 elections will be young deputies, in the function of that SP since the Renaissance will now go not to those who have 30 or so years of experience, but a new blood. Even today, Rama underlined the 'young people of the next decade, that of the EU'.
The most important political names will be there, but the rest will not be. Rama informed today that there will be no more candidates with a closed list with more than one mandate", said Shehu.
