Police have detained the son-in-law of Qazim Sejdini, the former mayor of Elbasan, who passed away a short time ago.
Aurel Mehjan has been arrested. He was detained by order of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Elbasan on the charge of "Threat due to duty" of an Elbasan police officer.
Official sources from the General Directorate of the State Police reported that Mehja was detained after threatening to hit a police officer with his car in the city of Elbasan while the "Summer Day" Cycling Cup was taking place.
According to official sources, the incident occurred on the main boulevard of Elbasan, while the police are currently conducting investigative actions.
Mehja has been appointed Cabinet Director at the Elbasan District Council for several weeks.
