The Tirana court has set the security measure of "prison arrest" for the organizer of the attack on lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi, Dritan Nano and his son-in-law Dorian Alia.
Dritan Nano and his son-in-law Dorian Alia are left in prison, after being accused of assaulting lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi.
It should be noted that the Prosecutor's Office has taken a different stance than the Tirana police, regarding the accusation brought against the perpetrators who violated the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi.
The prosecutor's office has filed the charges of "intentionally serious injury committed in cooperation" and "beating due to duty", while the police registered the case with the charge of "attempted murder, committed in cooperation".
Meanwhile, Nano and Alia have denied the accusations, saying that it was not a planned attack. Nano, who is suspected of having organized the attack, stated that he had no knowledge, while his son-in-law stood by the first statement, saying that he saw him by chance and shot him at the moment.
Earlier, the Prosecutor's Office asked for prison terms for the two persons, who are charged with serious injury with intent committed in cooperation, opposition and assault of the lawyer committed in cooperation.
Also for the other three perpetrators Drivald Alia, Elton Kasaj and Romario Tabaku, the prosecution requested the appointment of the security measure "prison arrest" in absentia for the same charges as Nano and Alia.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the lawyer Sokol Mêngjesi is in critical condition in the trauma hospital.
