Sokol Bushkokaj, the protester of Reestablishment and PL, who endangered the lives of journalists and citizens by throwing Molotov cocktails during the protest in front of the Municipality of Tirana, appears before the court today.
He will be known today with the security measure, while the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has requested prison for the 49-year-old.
Bushkolaj was arrested during the protest of May 8, while he is charged with 5 charges. In addition to the act of throwing Molotov cocktails at citizens and journalists, he was charged with "intentional attempted murder".
Bushkolaj appeared completely disguised in order not to be identified by the police.
Dressed in a white T-shirt, with the Albanian flag above it, with a hat on his head, glasses and surgical mask and gloves, the 49-year-old appeared calmly among other people, took out the Molotov cocktails and threw them towards the town hall, while one of them fell in the direction of journalists and citizens.
He also ignored the calls of the police, who asked him not to throw Molotov cocktails, while he left among the trees to hide.
"The person with the white T-shirt, flag and hat should not throw any more pyrotechnics," said the police.
Also, the militant of the Reestablishment or the Freedom Party is accused of "Disturbance of public peace", "Violation of the rules on explosives and incendiary substances", "Destruction of property by fire", "Strikes due to duty".
The event was condemned by journalists' associations and the AMA, which demanded that the author face justice. Likewise, a 22-year-old man, KB, resident in Tirana, has also been investigated for the protest.
