Today is a decisive day for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, as the Supreme Court will consider his appeal through which he requests the removal of the house arrest security measure, where he has been held since December 30, 2023.

Repeatedly, his lawyer Genci Gjokutaj insists that justice is acting under the orders of the prime minister and the goal is to burn Berisha's mandate as a deputy.
Berisha is suspected of corruption together with his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi in relation to the privatization procedures of the former Partizani sports club.
SPAK recently postponed the investigation deadlines for another 3 months. The extension of the investigation deadlines is expected to be approved by the Special Court.
