The head of the group of opposition municipal councilors, Ilir Alimehmeti, has accused that illegality prevails in the Municipality of Tirana for a long time.
He has shown that municipal councilors do not have access to information, nor to interviews and meetings, which is why the protest on Friday was a reaction.
Alimehmeti said that all official methods were used, and the protest was the escalation of the situation.
"For every action there is a reaction, it is Newton's third law. We were prevented from doing our duty as municipal councilors. Access for information, for meetings was blocked by the police. Being afraid of the people, the municipal councilors. We stumbled in our task. It was blatant that day. This story started in June. Veliaj did not swear. Municipal council meetings are not broadcast. We have sent countless letters for information, we have not received. We have made a request for interpellation, we have not received an answer. Any kind of amendment, request is rejected. What you saw is an escalation of the situation", said Alimehmeti on Report TV.
