Analyst Neritan Sejamini called naivety the belief expressed by the right in Albania that the victory of the Republican candidate, Donald Trump in tomorrow's elections in the USA will solve the problems in Albania and Kosovo.
Sejamini said that the problems that Albania and Kosovo have are deeper and cannot be solved with a "deus ex machina", while adding that Trump is unpredictable.
"There is a certain naivety in the Albanian right. The problems that Albania and Kosovo have are deeper and cannot be solved with a "deus ex machina". Someone will come over there in America and solve the problems! Trump is unpredictable and prioritizes personal dominance to show that he can get things done. He is proud of his ability to negotiate, of his life when he knew how to resolve disputes, etc.
He also had such an approach in politics. Even in important issues, such as that of Kosovo, which he wanted to solve as a triumph of foreign policy that he needed to increase his myth that he solves big things.
But this kind of approach for personal gain, where the relationship is not official, but "give me something, I give you something" makes it unpredictable if not harmful for Albania, considering Kosovo, given that Serbia has tremendous lobbying in the USA.
It is naive to think that Trump will come and remove Mr. Berisha's wives, will introduce Kosovo into NATO, will resolve the Kosovo-Serbia conflict in favor of Kosovo. The chances of this happening are zero. "Kosovo cannot be included in the Council of Europe, not in NATO ," Sejamini said for "TPZ".
