Journalist Klodiana Lala spoke about SPAK's investigations into the January 21 murders. She said that investigating the incident is difficult, as the file has been destroyed in other prosecutors' offices over the years.
She stated that the main hope for revealing whether there was an order for the murders is Agron Malaj, the former leader of the fire group, who is today a Socialist Party MP and may become a repentant justice system.
"SPAK is waiting for the answers to the expert reports, where the shell that was removed from Aleks Nika's body was sent. Without receiving this, SPAK cannot continue. The main witnesses, Berisha, Basha, Topi, some of the guards' employees, have been questioned, the old file has been taken, so since it is left in these two expert reports, which is also related to some radio communications, these results must be awaited. In a way, it seems as if it is waiting for the documents. I was skeptical about the events of January 21, if they will be revealed. I thought that politics has no interest in revealing it. There was an order to shoot at the protesters. Who is the person who gave the order, justice must clarify. The way the events unfolded at that time, there were several moments. The suspected perpetrators were given time to destroy the material evidence, to destroy the pistols, the Kalashnokovs, to destroy the Prime Minister's server, they were given time for years. It is not only Berisha's part, who committed the most unprecedented act by not implementing the prosecutor's decision to ban the chain of custody, but later Rama took power and if he had the will to solve it, it would have been done. We are asking an institution of justice to solve an event, with a destroyed file.
