The court hearing at the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) for former President of the Republic and Freedom Party leader Ilir Meta has been postponed. The next hearing at the SCOC is scheduled for January 29, where the case is expected to continue and the parties in the process will be heard.
During today's session, prosecutors read part of their submissions, while the process was also accompanied by debates between the parties regarding the evidence presented in the file.
After the hearing, Meta's defense attorney, Kujtim Cakrani, told the media that what was presented in court today proves, in his opinion, that the accusation is unfounded. He stressed that the legal battle continues and that the defense remains determined to see the case through to the end.
" During the session, it was proven that the accusation does not hold up. The battle remains open. We will meet on the 29th. We hope that it will be a decisive session and then it will be the lawyers' turn to present our submissions ," said Cakrani.
