Yesterday it was learned that Durim Bami, a character of the world of crime, located in Dubai, has been arrested by the authorities and there is a possibility that he will be deported to Albania, as happened a while ago with Plarent Dervishaj.
Journalist Klodiana Lala, invited to the show "Te Paespozuariti", has given details of Bami's detention. Lala said that Bami is considered Nikla's strongman, with very strong connections in politics, and according to her, he can be an interesting character to analyze.
"In May of this year, there was an arrest warrant, where several criminal groups were hit. There are doubts that Bami aimed to eliminate Arben Ndoka, but also trusted people of Ervis Martinaj. On the other hand, it was Ndoka and others, who were looking for the head of Patience Bami.
Based on the arrest warrant, he was detained in Dubai, stayed a few days and was released, because there is no extradition agreement. It was on electronic surveillance, it was monitored all the time. For unclear reasons, it has been reconfirmed that he was arrested for the second time. The chances are that the same scenario will be used as with Plarent Dervishaj who was expelled.
It remains to be seen if the Emirates will follow suit, the only legal avenue that can be used is to have confirmed that he is either a danger to their country, or involved in conflicts or crimes there.
This part remains unclear. But the authorities have a signal that can be acted upon, as in the case of Plarent Dervishaj, who seems to have been deported from Dubai, where he can be expected by the Albanian police. But that remains to be seen. He has the right to challenge the detention because there is no extradition agreement.
If Durim Bami comes, the equation changes, he can repent and confess. Due to his involvement in criminal acts, but also his political connections, he may be among the most interesting penitents, after Adriatik Col of the Durrës gang. If Dubai kicks him out, Durim Bami can confess.
