The Prefect of Durrës, Emiljan Jani, explained the situation and the measures that have been taken regarding the floods in this region. Jani added that the Durrës region today experienced a severe situation of high-intensity rainfall that continued for hours. He emphasized that 60 people from 18 families have been evacuated. According to him, the situation is moving towards normalization.
" The situation is towards normalization. Durrës today dawned starting from midnight and until midday with torrential rain, with above average intensity where we had flooding of roads, apartments, houses and lands. So, the Durrës region today had a severe situation of high intensity rainfall that lasted for hours.
"As of now, I have no information about the normality of the Durrës-Tirana road. But I declare that the situation is towards normality and all Civil Emergency structures, including the Civil Emergency of Tirana which have been present since this morning with vehicles and people, are on the ground to normalize the situation. In addition, we have also evacuated several families who found it impossible to stay indoors. We have used and sent two cavalry units, that of the Defense and the Ministry of Interior, about 60 people from 18 families ," explained Emiljan Jani in a direct link to OraNews.
