Migrants return to work, 7 kilometers of traffic at Kakavija customs
Kilometer traffic in Kakavije

The kilometer-long queue continues today at the Kakavija border crossing, where Albanian immigrants are returning to their workplaces after the holidays.

The convoys of vehicles reach up to 7 kilometers, while the wait at customs lasts over 3 hours.

The aggravated situation is mainly caused by the Greek side, which is working with only two counters, while the Albanian side has four counters in operation, in an attempt to cope with the high influx.

Immigrants express outrage as many of them live on the islands and must return to work tomorrow.

According to official data, over 9,000 citizens have crossed the border in the last 24 hours, mostly migrants returning to Greece to resume work.

The high flow has caused fatigue and discomfort to travelers, who have been waiting for hours in difficult conditions.
Authorities are calling on citizens to be patient, as the situation is expected to remain busy in the coming hours.
