"The SP-PD duo are dominating the political scene by force", Kikia:

Journalist Mentor Kikia said that the two largest parties in Albania "are dominating the political scene by law" and not by merit.

He stated that "currently we are not in a situation where we simply need to remove a government that we find to be corrupt and replace it with another government."

"The political status quo and the status quo in political parties, I emphasize this, makes necessary not just a reform, but a shake-up of the system even more powerful than that of 1992, because back then it was a shake-up without knowing what awaited us, because we had no experience. Today Albania is in conditions where it has consumed 35 years, a generation and a half in the rise of the power of the individual and the cult of the individual, Sali Berisha and Edi Rama, and has not been able to build a functional system and a functional state," Kikia told "A2 CNN".

He stated that "long-term Electoral Reform must be ensured and not electoral fixes three weeks before the elections."

"The Democratic Party's invitation for a roundtable has also come to me personally and the question I ask is: what will be discussed? What needs to be done today for Albania? The opposition factor can unite beyond ideological and political divisions, left, right, center. If there is a major objective, these energies unite in achieving this objective and then each party looks at its own approaches. Again I continue to ask: what is the objective? The objective for me is not simply the departure of a prime minister. Prime ministers have been changed and even less to replace this prime minister with a former prime minister, but the country must undergo absolutely profound reforms. A long-term Electoral Reform must be ensured and not electoral patches three weeks before the elections. To end the domination by law, not by merit, by law, of the political scene by the SP-PD duo ", said Kikia.

The journalist also said that today the economy thrives only on concrete and iron, which destroys the environment and has destroyed other productive sectors, and has demolished the agricultural sector.

"It is very important to guarantee democracy within political parties by law, because authoritarian parties produce authoritarian power. How are parties run today? With a strong fist. How is the government run? Yes, with the same form. Why are parties today the property of the leaders? Because there is no law that guarantees democracy within political parties. A law to guarantee financial transparency. Where does corruption come from? It is not supernatural matter that came with a meteor. Corruption is produced by the way parties are financed. The economic clan that controls the economy today finances parties in electoral campaigns. This economic clan gets the money back through predetermined tenders. Those who receive the tenders create a political-economic oligarchy that goes as far as dictating personal laws to plunder public property. It will have to be divided.

What kind of economy will this country have? Today, the economy thrives only on concrete and iron that destroys the environment and has destroyed other productive sectors, has demolished the agricultural sector. What will this country do? Will it move on agriculture, tourism or will it continue on iron and concrete? These things are missing in the approach or in the opposition platform that is presented to the people today. Why don't the people take to the streets? The people have reason not to go out, but to scream, but they don't go out because the alternative they are told is "remove Rama, put Berisha in."

Is this enough to bring the people out into the streets? I say no, because it has changed them once. The people need to see exactly what will be done differently in this country, because the systems need to be overturned here. It is a criminalized economy, criminalized business, criminalized politics. The captured media, everything needs to be shaken and this thing is not shaken simply, let's get together, remove Rama, but to uproot the entire system that has been set up and if here the opposition parties can come together not simply to remove Rama, but to give life to this platform, I think yes, the parties can come together here and then each follows its own approach according to its ideological and political orientation", he concluded.
