Floods in the country, Lita: Rama's 300 euros are coming out of your nose,

Journalist Lavdrim Lita spoke about the flooding situation that has engulfed the entire country. He said that "declaring a state of emergency is necessary so that citizens who have suffered damage from the floods can be compensated."

He adds that the damages suffered by residents of flooded areas run into hundreds of thousands of euros, due to misgovernance and human intervention.

"The declaration of a state of emergency is urgent, because these citizens have suffered damages of thousands and hundreds of thousands of euros, and without the declaration of a state of emergency, they will not be compensated for the damages caused by misgovernance and human error," said Lita.

According to him, the situation on the Tirana highway is a consequence of a lack of planning and non-cleaning of drainage channels, which requires collective rather than individual intervention.

"On the Tirana highway, it is man-made due to the lack of planning and cleaning of drainage channels. Thousands of euros have been spent to buy pumps to remove the water because they are afraid. A private person cannot do it in his business, it must be collective and the damages must be compensated by the state through the declaration of a state of emergency," he told "A2 CNN".

While speaking about the floods in Durrës, Lita denounced that citizens from the former swamp area or Shkozet receive 300 euros each during election campaigns, while facing bills of 30 thousand euros from the damages caused by the floods. He appealed for resistance and accountability of the government.

"The citizens are getting fed up with the likes of Këneta, Shkozet, etc. who get that 300 euros during the elections and then get a 30 thousand euro bill for the water that goes to their house. They compromise when the elections come with the one they have been voting for since 2000 and then when the water comes they get a 30 thousand euro bill. They should put up a little resistance, not take the 300 euros during the elections from the guys in black sweatshirts, but demand that their sewers be cleaned," the journalist concluded.
