Gjergj Zefi, editor of Pamflet, has made a strong statement on the podcast "Të Pashoq", where he predicts that Prime Minister Edi Rama will be summoned to SPAK very soon, even without waiting for the end of his mandate.
Zefi mentioned several files that weigh heavily on the head of government, while emphasizing that the wiretaps conducted in December 2025 will be the turning point for the investigation against him.
Zefi described 2026 as a year where SPAK will dominate the public scene, bringing serious and compromising events to the government. He even sees this pressure as an impetus for citizens to take to the streets, calling it an inevitable clash.

-How do you see the work of SPAK? For example, not calling the prime minister to SPAK, the fact that he is in power and it is an unwritten rule that only when you become ex, you get hit?
Gjergj Zefi: Not necessarily, but in order to hit the prime minister, things have to be taken in order.
-What does it mean?
Gjergj Zefi: Which means that very soon Rama will also be in SPAK.
- When will he be in power?
Gjergj Zefi: Yes, yes, during the time he is in power.
- About the McGonigal file or is it irrelevant?
Gjergj Zefi: For all files, it is inevitable
-Does that mean he won't finish his term?
Gjergj Zefi: Oh, he won't finish his term, Rama himself said that some time ago. He said his media say he has two more years left, then he will become president, it will happen like this, it will happen like that. Speaker
-Is there such a scenario, do you believe it?
Gjergj Zefi: I don't believe it. Maybe I believed it once, but now I don't believe it. If you analyze the situation in Croatia, you understand how it will precipitate here too. Even in Croatia, they started with ministers, Sanader remained. Sanader was one of the strongest people. He had fought the war, he had made great strides for Croatia towards Europe, and in the end he too ended up there.
-Give me some kind of projection or expectation for 2026 here.
Gjergj Zefi: I think that the center will now be, the Special Prosecution. This year at least. There will be very serious and very compromising events for the Albanian Prime Minister. The wiretaps that were caught in time in recent days, in December, it seems to me, are very, very significant. And if they are all opened, I hope that they are all opened, so that it can be taught once and for all that a wound does not heal if you do not remove all the evil. So I think that this will be it.
-But without overthrowing the status quo?
Gjergj Zefi: If they open, the status quo will fall. I think SPAK will not do the rotation, but SPAK will force citizens to take to the streets.
-We will see Albanians on the streets now, do you think?
Gjergj Zefi: Yes. I think so. What is expected to happen and is expected to open files and wiretaps... But as I had at the end of the year for example, the one due to a drink in Vlora was something okay, small in number.
