The highest representative of the OSCE for the Freedom of the Media, Teresa Ribeiro, expresses that she is concerned about the unprecedented case that happened to the journalist of "Ora News", Elkton Qyno, where after he was asked to hand over the sources of the news information that he publishes, the prosecutors and SPAK decided to control the apartment and then seize his work items.
Through the official page on the social platform "X", Europe's highest representative of media freedom declares that the confidentiality of journalistic sources is key to media freedom and must be strictly protected by law and any other practice.
“Shocked in Albania, journalist Elton Qyno was pressured for several hours to reveal his sources after authorities searched his home and office, seizing equipment. The confidentiality of journalistic sources is key to media freedom and must be strictly protected by law and any other practice", emphasizes the OSCE High Representative for Freedom of the Media, Teresa Ribeiro in the reaction of her.
