Democrat Edvin Kulluri spoke about the decision of the Council of Mandates to vote in favor of removing the immunity of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
In an interview for "Abc News", Kulluri said that PD today needs a political project and that what was offered by Berisha was only a personal project.
“I believe this work would succeed in this way. Both Mr. Berisha and those MPs who were not in the hall voted for the removal of Saimir Tahir and Arben Ahmetaj and it makes no sense not to vote for the removal of Mr. Berisha's immunity. So there is no reason to obstruct the investigation by the prosecution body. It would be a great achievement if we had equality before the law for all citizens. We don't have to protest for a politician in this case, Mr. Berisha and not for another," Kulluri said.
During this interview, Kulluri said that Berisha is in a troubled state and that he is not calm.
“The support for the former prime minister has decreased and this is a product of all his decisions since 2013, since many times he has not kept his word. Mr. Berisha violated all principles. He did not keep his words to leave if he lost the elections. So he has disappointed the public opinion and all his supporters. They will even be less and less. Berisha has destroyed all the elements of virtue, there is no eternal politician. The cost that has been given to DP from the actions and inactions of Mr. Berisha has been great. A new perspective must be opened, as everyone knows that this path leads nowhere", he said, among other things.
As for the head of PD Lulzim Basha and his position, Kulluri said that he has taken positions and that he has expressed himself on other issues, in meetings with party structures and citizens.
“I believe the position on this matter will be clear on Thursday in the Assembly. We will be, this conflict provoked by Berisha on the issue of non-women", he said, among other things.
