The former senior director of the State Police, Arjan Hoxha, has revealed his acquaintance with the deputy commissioner who executed himself in Durrës.
Hoxha said that he visually recognized Arben Pječi when he worked at the Durrës police station. According to him, Arbeni should give the impression of a fair man who obeys the law and not like those police officers who are wearing shadows of suspicion.
He said that the lack of condolences from senior police leaders is extremely painful for someone who served the State Police for decades.
" This is painful and very serious that there was no consolation from the senior leaders of the State Police. A servant of the law has lost his life, a man who was trained to enforce the law. A man who during his career has gone over himself, his family and relatives with dozens of challenges, pressures from the most changes, or betrayed by politics and has reached the moment to undertake that act. I know him visually, when I was in the Durrës Police. He gave me the impression of a calm man who does his duty and not like these people with a shadow of doubt. A calm man who only follows the law ", said Hoxha in "Euronews Albania".
Officer Pjeçi was in a serious psychological state, as a dismissal order had been signed against him, because the Court of Appeal had sentenced him with a final decision for "Slight Injury".
In relation to this court decision, Hoxha emphasized that an alternative, milder sentence could be given so that the deputy commissioner would not lose his job.
