The Supreme Court has rejected the request submitted by the lawyers of the former prime minister Sali Berisha and his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltez, for the exclusion of the trial team composed of Sandër Simoni, Ilir Panda and Sokol Binaj.
The troupe would consider the request for removal of the restrictive security measure of house arrest imposed on both of them.
The defense of both parties asked for the dismissal of the three judges with the argument that they have considered such a request before.
Because of this request, the Supreme Court postponed to July 16 the examination of the request of Berisha and Malltez to change or soften the security measure.
We remind you that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has been kept in isolation in his apartment for 9 months, as they are being investigated by SPAK regarding the privatization procedures of the former "Partizani" complex, for corruption, money laundering and concealment of wealth. Also for Jamarbër Malltez, the investigations will continue with the measure of "house arrest".
