The British ambassador in our country, Alastair King-Smith, speaking about the political situation in the country, did not rule out the possibility of announcing other "non-grata" names, but stated that he cannot comment on the designations of other individuals.
In an interview for the show "Debat" on "A2CNN", Smith said that the declarations non grata from Britain are not only determined by the political profile.
" We have no relations with individuals who have been designated as such either by Britain, the USA and other allies. This is clear policy and has not changed. The process in Great Britain is very clear. We make decisions about exemptions and barring decisions to enter the country, but these names are not published. I have said all I had to say on this matter. Britain does not comment on future sanctions, or future designations of individuals. It can be across the spectrum; individuals involved in criminality and corruption and this includes politicians, businessmen, criminals and others ," King Smith said.
Regarding the language of Ilir Meta towards the head of the SPAk, the ambassador emphasized once again his position in support of the prosecutors, while calling the attacks against them unacceptable.
"I believe you have seen my public comments that I strongly support the special prosecution, SPAK. Prosecutors have done a good job and should be supported. Attacks are unacceptable and this requires a careful solution ", he added.
He also expressed the support of Great Britain in the fight against crime and corruption in Albania.
" In Great Britain you have a strong supporter. We have signed the agreement with the law enforcement agencies to have international cooperation, help in the fight against criminality, corruption and improve accountability in Albania. This is what the citizens of Albania and international partners want ," he said.
