Altin Dumani, head of SPAK, stopped in Fier today, in a meeting with prosecutors from the Fier Prosecution Office, regarding the investigation of electoral crimes.
This is the first meeting that the head of SPAK holds with district prosecutors, regarding the investigation of electoral crimes, while the Special Prosecution Office also has its own strategy for combating phenomena that undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
Duman's meeting comes within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the General Prosecutor's Office and the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime.
The focus of this meeting was the cooperation and coordination between SPAK and the Fier Prosecutor's Office in the investigation of all events affecting the electoral process, mainly in carefully assessing information, carrying out the first investigative actions with quality and in the shortest possible time, and immediately informing the Special Prosecutor's Office about criminal offenses within its subject matter competence.
SPAK has established a Task Force to investigate electoral crimes for the May 11 parliamentary elections.
Each district will be covered by a SPAK prosecutor and BKH agents, who will coordinate with district prosecutors and law enforcement agencies, acting as a core against election crimes.
"The field investigation groups will be composed of prosecutors, BKH investigators, financial investigators, administrative support staff, divided into 12 Regions and 61 Municipalities. The field investigation groups will focus on preventing and investigating criminal offenses related to the use of public administration, state infrastructure, and the involvement of criminal groups in the electoral process," SPAK announced when it presented the strategy against electoral crimes.
