Cristina Guarda, from the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, also commented on the Prime Minister's gesture towards Giorgia Meloni.
Italian MEP Cristina Guarda strongly criticized Prime Minister Edi Rama during her speech at the 30th protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, stating that one does not enter the European Union "by kneeling", but with dignity and by respecting citizens.
During her speech, Guarda stated that the European Commission should listen to the voice of Albanian citizens and demand that the government respect their demands. She also commented on a gesture by Prime Minister Edi Rama towards Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, saying that a prime minister should only kneel before his people.
"The European Commission cannot be blind and must see the truth and demand that Edi Rama and every other politician listen and respect you."
I am Italian and I want to thank you and the Albanian diaspora in Italy, they are fighting for you and for us.
Thank you to all Albanians around the world. As an Italian, I have an image in front of me, your Prime Minister (Edi Rama) kneeling before my Prime Minister (Giorgia Meloni). The Prime Minister of a country does not kneel before anyone except his people.
"You don't enter the European Union by kneeling, you don't enter the EU as someone's servants, you enter Europe with your head held high, deserving it and knowing that we will fight for our well-being," she said.
