The director of the Albanian Road Authority, Evis Berberi, leaves his post. It is learned that he resigned from this post a few days ago, although there is still no official communication.
But sources from the Special Prosecutor's Office claim that about two weeks ago, SPAK launched an investigation against Berber, regarding the issue of the sale of a company in 2018.
But it is known that investigations have also been started for the affairs with the roads. "Pamphlet" reported earlier that the Special Prosecutor's Office has registered criminal proceedings against the Albanian Road Authority and has launched an investigation into violations of equality in tenders and abuses of tenders.
On February 17, 2024, one day after the collapse of the "Korçë-Ersekë" road, the Special Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office would declare the initiation of the investigation and the registration of criminal proceedings against the companies "A & E ENGINEERING" with shareholders Entela Çano and the company "ANK" with owner Agim Kola.
The charges were clear; Misuse of duties, fraud with the road project, technical fraud, fraud and forgery with the work supervision process, carried out in collaboration.
Meanwhile, one day after the registration of the criminal proceedings and the start of the investigation against the General Director of Roads (ARRSH), Evis Berberi, the agents of the National Bureau of Investigation, landed in the 3 apartments of the Director of the Road Authority, seizing documents, a computer, 2 phones and 3 USBs, where it is believed that there is evidence of affairs with other roads. Apparently this has forced him to resign.
