In the village of Drenovicë, Dimal, residents complain about massive pollution in the garbage bins located near their homes and businesses.
But what is most disturbing is the fact that nearby is a collection point (warehouse + greenhouse) for fruits and vegetables, and according to residents, the garbage bins are not cleaned for days and weeks and there are often dead animals in them.
They tell Fiks Fare that the pollution and numerous insects that come from this waste have become a problem. For those who also have homes nearby, life is even more difficult.
After more than two weeks, at the moment when Fiks Fare was present receiving complaints from residents, a garbage collection truck arrived, signaling that Fiks was in the village of Drenovicë. The two employees and the truck driver immediately got to work collecting the garbage.
After a few minutes, the cleaning manager, Mr. Eduard Ibrahimi, who was notified by one of the employees, came near the filming group of Fiks Fare. He told Fiks Fare that the garbage collection had been done 3-4 days ago, which the residents denied and documented with photos and videos. The manager also justified himself by the fact that the residents throw away a lot of garbage, and some of it should not even be thrown there. "Sofas, washing machines, refrigerators should not be thrown away, as the residents must notify the companies that sold them to come and pick them up," says Ibrahimi. So, meaning that the residents of the village of Drenovicë should also differentiate their garbage, but without putting the appropriate bins.
This cleaning company won the tender in the Municipality of Dimal in 2021, worth around 1.2 million euros, and has been operating in the Municipality of Dimal for 4 years. The object of this contract is the cleaning service in the administrative territory of the Municipality of Dimal.
Fiks Fare also inquired at the Dimal Municipality, where the information service received a response that they were aware of the situation from the complaints of residents who had filed them with the municipality. The employee claims, "We remembered that the problem had been solved, we did not know that it was still ongoing." After being informed by Fiks, the employees confirmed that the cleaning company would be notified of the problem and a solution would be provided as soon as possible.
