Former Minister Fatmir Mediu clashed with the Durda family in the courtroom. Mediu stated that he does not accept that politics be played on behalf of the family, when in fact the Durda family is seeking justice for their 7-year-old son who was killed in the Grëdec massacre. Mediu says that the process of dismantling the ammunition was carried out by the Armed Forces.
Excerpts from the courtroom confrontation:
Fatmir Mediu: Everything that is done in this hall has only one purpose, to hold a public trial. Since tragedy always creates opinion. If you have decided to judge by opinion and not by procedure and criminal code, then this process has failed. I do not accept that on behalf of the family members it becomes political, I have nothing against the family members and I am even open to them for any questions they have. If justice would like to do justice, there are some documents on the entire dismantling process. These are not facts. The two American teams that have assisted the Armed Forces for 15 years, the NATO commander in Tirana, if those who thought of how to carry out the dismantling acts did not call in while those scientific experts who could not even read, and testified, then this is not a judicial process to create only a perception, public opinion, saying "a mock trial is being held". Meanwhile, I am accused of abuse of office.

Mediu: How is it possible that Altin Dumani, regarding the manner of Ilir Meta's arrest, said that he has no responsibility since I only issued the order, the police implemented it, while I am responsible for a decision for the dismantling that I issued in a completely regular manner, which was implemented and enforced by the armed forces.
