Farmers in Greece continue protests, Kakavija-Ioannina road blocked again

Farmers in Greece are still continuing their protests and blocking roads.

The Kakavija Border Police has announced that the Kakavija-Ianinë road axis, in the village of Kallpaq, will be blocked again today. The blockade will start from 19:00 to 22:00 (Greek time).

"The Kakavija Border Police, through the Kakavija Joint Information Exchange Center, has been notified by the Greek Border Police that today, from 19:00 to 22:00 (Greek time), the Kakavija-Ioannina road axis, at the intersection of the village of Kallpaq, will be blocked due to the protest that farmers will hold.

"Only vehicles that have health emergencies will be allowed to circulate. The Kakavija Border Police asks for the understanding of citizens and suggests planning vehicle trips at other times of the day ," the police announced.

The protesters emphasize that their demands remain open and relate to drastically reducing production costs, introducing tax-free oil and a cap on rural electricity, as well as ensuring guaranteed minimum prices that cover real costs.

They also demand the immediate payment of subsidies and compensation and changes to the ELGA regulation, so that production is fully compensated.
