Tirana Police has drafted a plan of measures in the framework of the New Year's celebrations.

Announcement:

With the objective of guaranteeing the smooth running of the celebrations on the occasion of the change of years, the Tirana Local Police Directorate, based on and for the implementation of the special plan of measures, drafted with the same objective, by the General Directorate of the State Police, has undertaken a series of concrete measures throughout the territory of the capital.

The measures consist of:

-increasing the presence of uniformed police services and those of the Criminal Police, in all urban areas, with a special focus on areas with an influx of citizens, in order to guarantee public order and safety;

-establishing fixed checkpoints at the entrance and exit of the city, as well as increasing mobile patrols, in order to prevent illegal activities and increase security;

-intensifying measures to monitor road traffic, through increased controls, the use of intelligent vehicles and patrols on main urban and interurban axes, with the aim of preventing road accidents;

- conducting continuous checks on entities and individuals who possess/sell pyrotechnic substances (fireworks and/or capsules), to prevent risks and accidental events;

-increasing the presence of Police services in public squares, promenades, pedestrian areas, places of worship, entertainment venues (bars, restaurants, nightclubs) and shopping centers, with the objective of guaranteeing the smooth running of the celebrations;

-cooperation and exchange of information in real time, for the prevention of criminal events and the capture of wanted citizens.

We emphasize that Police officers will be ready to intervene immediately, in any case of need. Ask for help and report any illegalities you encounter, at any physical patrol, police unit or at the toll-free numbers 129 and 112!
