Among the people asphyxiated by the smoke in the 12-story building in Lushnje that was engulfed in flames after a fire that first broke out in the Metropol shopping center are two firefighters.
They tell about the problems they had during the battle to extinguish the flames while saying that now that they have made serums they will return to the task.
"We had a problem with breathing, we were blocked by smoke, we received serum and oxygen, now we will go back to work" , they said.
While it is reported that the flames have been reactivated in the shopping center in Lushnje. Although the situation was brought under control after more than 4 hours, it is learned that a little while ago the flames were activated on the top floor of the shopping center.
The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. in a shoe store on the third floor of the mall, and then spread throughout the mall. The cause is suspected to have been a spark in an air conditioner in the store where the fire is believed to have started.
The flames also engulfed a bar, which had wooden cladding, and this caused the situation to get out of control. So far, 42 people have been reported asphyxiated.
