How was Christmas celebrated in Albania? After the mass, the faithful conveyed

Tirana has opened the week of holidays. On the eve of Christmas, the Municipality of Tirana organized on Saturday evening, a concert bringing a festive atmosphere.

The concert in "Skënderbej" square started with the symphony orchestra, which was later joined by the children's choir.

The whole event was organized as a journey through time and musical styles. Many citizens gathered to enjoy the concert, who also shared the first congratulations on this occasion.

The decorations, but also the fantastic atmosphere, has made a large number of tourists choose Tirana to spend the end of the year holidays.

In Durrës, there have been many Catholic and Orthodox believers who have gone to cult facilities to participate in the religious services organized for Christmas.

Mass was held on Sunday evening, which was led in the church of St. Dominic by the general vicar of the diocesan Church of Tirana-Durrës, Bernard Caruana.

Believers of all ages participated in the mass dedicated to the birth of Christ, who prayed to be as close to their Lord as possible on this date marked for the calendar of the Catholic faith.

While this Monday morning, the Orthodox believers participated in the mass held in the "Apostle Pavli and Saint Asti" Orthodox Church, Durrës.

Citizens pray for more peace and kindness among people, while at the end of the mass there was no lack of congratulations for each other.

As in all of Albania, also in the city of Berat, Orthodox and Catholic believers have celebrated Christmas. Hundreds of Orthodox believers went this morning to the "Saint Dhimitri" Cathedral in the center of the city, to participate in the holy mass.

The divine liturgy on the occasion of Christmas began at 09:00 in the morning and was led by Father Johan Qako. He wished all Albanians for a year with more prosperity, love and harmony in every family.

Father Johan Qako conveyed to everyone the message to love and respect each other unconditionally, as God has taught us. Berata Orthodox believers have wished "Merry Christmas" and conveyed to all Berata families the message "for a year as prosperous as possible, with more love and respect for each other".

After the end of the holy Christmas mass, believers lit candles in the flames of the torch that symbolizes the "birth of Christ". According to the tradition of the holiday, believers take lit candles home as a beacon of hope for a better year ahead.

Meanwhile, the Orthodox believers of the city of Fier also participated in the Christmas liturgy in the Cathedral of Saint George. The mass was led by Reverend Father Nikola, who delivered the hopeful hymns and the good news of this day of hope for all believers. On this day, people light candles while on the occasion of the holiday they gather together with family members, conveying messages of love, solidarity and hope for health and well-being.

Christian believers in Gjirokastër have celebrated Christmas while also performing religious rites on this Holy Day. The Christmas morning mass for the Orthodox believers took place in the "Resurrection of Christ" cathedral church with the participation of many believers who conveyed their wishes for more peace, kindness and harmony

The Christmas mass was also held by Catholic believers in the "Xuzepe Gras" church in Gjirokastër.
