A protest organized by the civic movement "Albania is Becoming" has begun in front of the Prime Minister's Office in Tirana, where hundreds of citizens have taken to the streets with a direct demand: the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. The protest, which is unfolding peacefully, has been accompanied by calls for civic awakening and the inclusion of all segments of society.
One of the strongest voices in this protest was that of actor Genti Kame, who delivered a powerful speech from the podium, publicly calling on all professionals in this country to react to what he describes as a system seized and corrupted by the scoundrels.
" Educators, speak up, because if you don't speak up, the hooliganism in this country will be heard. Soldiers, policemen, you have taken an oath to protect this country. Speak up! Because if you don't speak up, the traitors will speak up. Engineers, people who built this country, speak up! Because if you don't speak up, they will destroy this country. Agronomists, farmers, zootechnicians, speak up, raise your voice, because if you don't speak up, they will dry up this land. Professionals, intellectuals, speak up, because if you don't speak up, if you don't speak up in the square, the shameless will enter those offices ," he declared.
The protest continues on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, while the organizers have warned that this is just the start of a new wave of citizen reaction against corruption, abuse of power, and the capture of institutions.
