The Greek Foreign Ministry has reacted regarding the incidents with Fredi Beleri, who is in Tirana as part of a delegation of 10 MEPs within the EU-Albania Stabilization-Association Parliamentary Commission.
They demand that the authorities take action.
"Albania should guarantee the safety of the MEPs. They represent the EU and should be treated with respect ", says the reaction.
Yesterday, Fredi Beleri was greeted with insults and attacks as he left the building of the Presidency of the Assembly, as part of the official delegation of the European Parliament that has come to Tirana.
The incident happened in front of the Presidency of the Assembly, where a citizen, after following him, threw yogurt at him and hit him with an egg.
Beleri did not react and simply left.
Before entering the Presidency, various citizens insulted the MEP, who refused to answer the questions of the journalists present, whether he had met Prime Minister Rama or not.
The delegation of the European Stabilization-Association Parliament, EU-Albania, started the monitoring visit to our country yesterday and will stay until October 31.
