The security expert, Ilir Kulla, says that despite the defeat in the local elections, the political end of the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has not yet come.
Kulla said that 5 years ago, Erdogan's party lost in the local elections, however, Erdogan was declared the winner in the presidential elections.
According to Kulla, the new leader of the AKP party will be Hakan Fidan, the current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
"No. So 5 years ago Erdogan lost all these municipalities and won the elections again. I was with Kerem Imamoglu two months ago here for dinner in Tirana. A meeting of 40 municipalities was organized. It is nationalist. Everyone in Turkey is Islamist. Erdoğan is ultra-nationalist, even pragmatist. The difference is how you got the votes. Erdogan has used political Islam to get votes and grow. Ekrem comes to the traditional popular party of Turkey, to the Turkish nationalism of Ataturk.
Of course there is a difference. Both parties are nationalists. Erdogan, even 5 years ago, even repeated the elections in the second round with Ekrem and lost. He lost Ankara, Italy, Izmir. This is the second mandate. If Ekremi had been a candidate for president 1 year ago, maybe we would have had the rotation that did not happen. The nationalists were divided. The Islamic wing, not that it did not vote for Erdogan, but preferred to vote for a single party, which is the party of Erbakan's son. These have received the religious vote that Erdogan has received. AKP has Anatolia with it and the Kurdish part. Erdogan is against all cities. There has been a devaluation of the Turkish Lira. There are also external factors. This is why Erdogan will not be involved with troops in Gaza.
As long as Erdogan is there, he will be president. Hakan Fidani, the foreign minister, will be the next leader of the AKP, he will make an alliance with the Kurds, the Islamic part. The rotation can come through a joint government, the opposition is not that united", he emphasized.
