The Belgian media continue to echo the operation 'Metamorfoza', where several justice and police officials were arrested, as well as the businessman Pëllumb Gjoka.
The newspaper "Gazet van Antwerpen" writes that the arrests came thanks to the fact that Belgium has managed to decipher the communications made by criminals through the Sky ECC application.
"More than two years after the decryption of the extremely popular encrypted messaging service among criminals, Sky ECC, police services around the world continue to provide a wealth of information.
In Albania, a major action was carried out last week by the anti-corruption unit, SPAK. Several suspected members of a large criminal organization were arrested from the operation. They are suspected, among other things, of involvement in several crimes, at least one of which resulted in death in the city of Shkodra. The arrests have been the most important news in the Albanian media for several days, as among the suspects are several people who are considered to be part of the 'upper world'.
For example, the prosecutor of the city of Kukës was put in handcuffs, who, according to the local press, ensured the closure of the files against some criminals. Several high-ranking policemen also ended up behind bars. "Albanian media reports that at least two of the police officers were involved in the assassination, one of them sharing information about the victim," the newspaper writes.
But according to her, the greatest attention is paid to the businessman Pëllumb Gjoka, who is known as a close contact of the Albanian prime minister.
"In Albania, great attention is being paid to the arrest of Pëllumb Gjoka, the well-known businessman, who has been announced by the government as a 'strategic investor' and is now accused of ordering the murders. The opposition in Albania says that Gjoka was in close contact with the Albanian prime minister".
"The messages sent by Sky ECC were broken by the investigators of the Federal Judicial Police of Antwerp in cooperation with the Dutch and French investigators," the newspaper points out.
