Journalists are today in solidarity with their colleague Elton Qyno, who was held for 10 hours by SPAK.
Prosecutors have asked him to reveal his sources of information. Also, SPAK and BKH officers went to the journalist's apartment, exercising control in front of his minor children.
His colleagues have reacted on social networks, who are against this decision, describing it as a crime and an attack on the media.
One of them, Klodian Tomorri, demands that the protection of the journalist not to reveal the source be sanctioned in the Constitution. While the journalist Zylyftar Bregu says that the control of his apartment shows the danger of media freedom.
Journalist Gjergj Zefi states that the attempt to extract the source through pressure or the force of the law is nothing but a legal violation, and above all a serious violation of the standards of freedom and media space.

Even in Albanian customary law, it is clearly stated in every medieval canon: "The news is not guilty". Therefore, journalists' organizations and above all the US and EU embassies should react immediately.

If the reason for the detention of colleague Elton Qyno is really blackmail to reveal the source of the information he has published, this is the most criminal precedent and the most dangerous attack that has ever been made to the media in Albania.

The source trusts the journalist with his life. The one who squeezes you to extract the source is nothing more and nothing less, but a murderer.
