The criminalistics expert, Ervin Karamuço, spoke about the inauguration of the NATO air base in Kuçovo this Monday.
He said that the NATO air base in Kuçovo, which lasted for 3 years, will serve for training and defense.
Among other things, he said that through this base, Albania will offer guarantees for neighboring countries as well.
"There will be demonstrations with Bajraktare drones. We have three levels of air bases in the world, this here is the first base. It is the basis for training and attack cases.
Until yesterday we produced stability, now we will also produce protection. We are also a guarantee for neighboring countries. It is almost impossible for a drone or missile to enter our territory. They say that Vucic also bought a drone. We are protected like never before. It took three years of work for the base, the Albanian government gave 5 million euros for the base in Kuçovo. Albanians will be the ones I get
We will have our F-16, F-18 pilots for the first time. That's how I want to say that the risk increases for us as a country", said Karamuço.
As of March 1, 3 "Bajraktar" combat drones have been deployed at the base of Kuçova, which will be used by the Albanian Armed Forces for military missions, but will also be able to be involved in police and civil operations.
The Kuçova base was built in 1955, as the first Albanian air base, and in the last 20 years it has served mainly for the training of pilots of the Armed Forces. The return to a NATO tactical base will allow the alliance's air assets to be deployed in Kucove during strategic operations in the Western Balkans.
